Privacy Policy

Anamorph (“Anamorph”, “we”, “us”) is a mobile application developed and operated by Marek Kači, Andrusovova 1032/2, 851 01 Bratislava, Slovak Republic — the data controller responsible for your personal data, regardless of which app store you downloaded Anamorph from. Anamorph is a photo-first food journal: you snap a plate or a nutrition table, edit the estimate, and keep a private day history. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Your meal photos and food logs are tied to your account. We do not sell your personal data, we do not use your meal photos for advertising, and we do not share your journal with a trainer or other users.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you sign up with email or “Sign in with Google” / “Sign in with Apple”, we receive identifiers such as your name and email address to create and secure your account. Apple may provide a private relay email if you choose Hide My Email.
Google Sign-In data. If you choose Google Sign-In, we request only basic OpenID profile scopes (openid, email, profile) so we can create your Anamorph account. We do not request Google Drive, Gmail, Contacts, or other sensitive Google scopes, and we do not use Google Sign-In data for ads.
Meal photos. Photos you take or pick to estimate a meal or to read a nutrition table on a pack. These images may show food (and occasionally people or surroundings in the frame). We store them to show your meal history and to run the estimate you requested.
Food & day content. Meal names and macros (from a photo estimate or typed in by you), day logs (for example weight, water, sleep, notes, calorie/protein goals), workouts you add, optional body photos you save to a day, and saved meal templates.
Recipes you create. Optional user-created recipes with a photo and macros you save for yourself. This is not a public recipe catalog.
Daily load questionnaire. Optional self-reported answers about how loaded the day felt. This is not a lab test or medical measurement. The app labels this “Daily load” — not a hormone or cortisol test.
Profile preferences. Language, height/weight/goal fields you choose to save, and similar app settings that improve portion context or personalization.
Notification tokens. A device push token so we can send the reminders you enable.
Technical & diagnostic data. App version, device type, and crash / error reports used to keep the app stable.

2. How we use your information

To provide and operate Anamorph, including syncing meals, day logs, and workouts to your account.
To estimate macros from a plate photo, or read a nutrition table, when you ask for it.
To send the reminders and notifications you have turned on.
To diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve the product.
To respond to account or privacy requests you send us.

3. Legal basis (EU / EEA / UK)

Where GDPR (or UK GDPR) applies, we process personal data on these bases:

Contract — to create your account and deliver the Anamorph service you requested.
Consent — for optional features such as push reminders, and for camera / photo library access on your device (granted through the operating system).
Legitimate interests — to keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix crashes, balanced against your rights.
Legal obligation — where we must retain limited records required by law.

You may withdraw consent for optional processing (for example by turning off notifications or deleting your account) without affecting processing that is necessary to run the service up to that point.

4. Service providers

We use trusted third-party processors that handle data on our behalf and only as needed to run the service:

Supabase — authentication, database, and meal photo storage.
Google / Apple — optional sign-in providers.
Google (Gemini API) — processing a meal photo or nutrition-table photo (and limited profile context you saved) to generate an editable nutrition estimate when you request one. Not used for advertising.
Sentry — crash and error diagnostics to keep the app stable.
Apple Push Notification service / Google Firebase Cloud Messaging / device OS services — delivering the reminders you enable.
Apple App Store / Google Play — if paid features are offered, billing is handled by the store (we do not store your full payment card details).

5. What we do not do

We do not sell your personal data.
We do not use your meal photos for advertising.
We do not share your private meal history with trainers, other users, or the public.
We do not scan product barcodes as a product feature. You can photograph a nutrition table on a pack; that photo is processed like any other food photo you request.
We do not use Google user data for purposes other than providing and securing your Anamorph account and related in-app features described here.

6. This website (theanamorph.com)

Our marketing / legal website is a static site. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party ad trackers on theanamorph.com. Essential hosting / CDN logs may be processed by our website host (for example Vercel) to deliver the pages and keep them secure.

7. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data, meal photos, food logs, and related content are removed from our systems, except where we must keep limited records to comply with the law.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the EU / EEA and UK), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at marek@theanamorph.com. You can also delete your account in the app or via our Delete Account page.

If you are in the EU / EEA, you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In Slovakia, that is the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic (ÚOOÚ SR) — dataprotection.gov.sk.

9. Children

Anamorph is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.

10. International transfers

Some processors may process data outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) provided by those processors.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
